Les Fabricants

When my brother and I write music, we always write for a particular reason.  And that reason is to write songs that we get excited by.  It first happened with POTF:  We got so excited by the sound that the songs just appeared almost instantly.  It was similar with this project.  We started with the idea that we wanted to write something together with vocals this time.  After a couple of initial ideas, the sound arrived.  We both grew up on the Beatles, and we both love the Zombies, Fleur De Lys (at least the 'promise' of their sound), and modern psychedelic bands like Of Montreal and MGMT.  So why not write something like that?  Why not write what you love?  There's also something french in there, with both of us being half french.  Not quite sure what, but it's there, via the Fleur De Lys influence maybe. Psychedelic french-english power pop?

That idea became Les Fabricants, and when we asked Dave Atkins (Resin Dogs/Wolfmother) to play on them (we asked him to play like keith moon- you have to appreciate that he is one of the few humans that can actually do that), it all fell into place very quickly.
